  • Coffee

Synonymous with Colombia, coffee has been exported from Colombia for around 200 years. The Zona Cafetera is becoming something of an attraction, with visitors tasting coffee at traditional fincas. As well as the coffee, the region is geographically stunning with spectacular panoramas of rolling hillsides, lush fertile vallets and quaint colonial villages.

Whilst most renowned in the fortified city of Cartagena, there are fine examples of colonial architecture spanning Colombia from the historical La Candelaria in Bogota and Villa de Leyva to the pretty villages in the coffee region.

Exploring Bogota

Bogota has much to offer the intrepid traveller, the old town of Candelaria is full of small cobbled streets and colourful buildings and some excellent museums.

The districts known as Parque 93, Zona Rosa and Usaken are great for restaurants, shopping and some inviting bars. There is also a cable car trip you can take to view the city's skyline.

Furthermore, the city boasts many parks (e.g. The Simon Bolivar Park Metropolitan Park which has large free concerts and festivals) amongst its urban sprawl.

An interesting fact about Bogota is that it has one of the most extensive dedicated Bike Paths Network of any city in the world, with a total of 300km.
