Night-time bull fight in Ecuador: 27-11-2007

The Nocturnal Flamenco Bullfighting Festival takes place in Ecuador during November representing a thrilling and memorable event for any tourists in the area.
Held in the traditional Plaza Belmonte in Quito's Old Quarter, the event is lit by candles instead of floodlights.
A Spanish Flamenco group sing in the background as the matador prepares to face the bull in the ghostly light of the arena.
A colourful procession around the plaza gets the festivities running and also represents a mark of respect to the Virgin of Triana.
Bullfighting is often criticised for being a bloodsport but whether visitors approve of the sport or not, it represents an important part of the culture of Latin America.
Those looking for less brutal culture in Ecuador should sample some of the country's traditional cuisine.
Pork, chicken and beef are very popular, along with 'cuy' or what we know as guinea pig - usually served with rice and potatoes. Green banana soup, roasted pork and mile con quesillo are also popular dishes.
