This tour offers an extensive trip in to the interior of the country where you will be introduced to the incredible scenery and wildlife.
You will fly into the capital, Georgetown before travelling on to the Iwokrama Field Station, searching for jaguars en route. The wildlife is spectacular ranging from macaws to tapirs to howler monkeys. The Iwokrama Canopy Walkway will give a different view of the of the jungle and its occupants before visiting Rock View Lodge for activities around the foot of the Pakaraima Mountains.
Karanambu is where you will meet Diane Mcturk and her orphaned giant river otters. Assisting Diane with the otters as well as searching for giant anteaters and fishing for Peacock Bass are just a handful of exciting activities that can be undertaken here. A stunning 8 hour trip by boat will take you to Dadanawa ranch where your hosts Sandy and Duane provide unforgettable experiences in the pristine rainforest and savannahs.
Extensions
A perfect extension to this itinerary is to spend time in one of the various retreats dotted along the Essequibo River. This makes for a relaxing end to a trip where you can simply relax or participate in the daily excursions that are offered. Alternatively you may wish to spend some relaxation time in Trinidad and Tobago or Barbados.
