Heath River Lodge
The Southern Amazon
Located on the Heath River that divides Peru and Bolivia, this amazing wildlife centre is situated in the middle of the largest pristine rainforest in the Amazon. You will be able to spot tapir and capybara which inhabit the area.
Only 4 hours by motorised canoe from Puerto Maldonado, you are a world away from the majority of other Amazon visitors. Within easy reach are an excellent macaw clay lick, oxbow lakes with giant otters, 480 bird species, and 6 monkey species.
The centre is also very close to the largest untouched savannah plain in the Amazon. The lodge itself is attractive and accommodates its guests in comfort and style.
