Day by Day

Day 1London

Fly from London to Madrid

Day 2Madrid - Lima - Cuzco

Fly overnight to Lima where you will connect in with your flight to Cuzco. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 3Cuzco

Today you will have time to relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings of Cuzco.

Day 4Cuzco

This morning you will taken to the colourful market at Pisac and also to admire the ruins, as well as those at Ollantaytambo. Your guide will then take you back to your hotel.

Day 5Cuzco - Soraypampa

You will be collected from your hotel in Cuzco this morning to travel to the Salkantay Lodge and Adventure Resort, stopping en route to explore small Inca ruins at Limatambo. You will undertake an acclimatisation horseride today.

Day 6Soraypampa

Day two of the Mountain Lodges journey, with a full day to explore the surrounding area and acclimatise further. There are some lovely gentle rides from the lodge.

Day 7Soraypampa - Huayraccmachay

Today your horseride begins in earnest, riding for 4 -5 hours from Soraypampa to Huayraccmachay.

Day 8Huayraccmachay - Collpapampa

A lesiureley morning today before descending through the lush Salkantay valley - riding for around 3 hours. You will arrive in time for a late lunch.

Day 9Collpapampa - Lucmabamba

Continue descending today through the Santa Teresa Valley, passing coffee plantations and orchards as you walk. Ride to your lodge and spend the rest of the day exploring the local area and village. Around 4 hours riding - last day of riding.

Day 10Lucmabamba - Machu Picchu

Optional walk to the Llactapata Pass from where you have a glimpse of Machu Picchu and the chance to visit the Inca ruins at Llactapata. There is then a descent to the Vilcanota River where you will take the train to Aguas Calientes to check into your hotel.

Day 11Machu Picchu - Cuzco

An early start to arrive at the Inca citadel in time for sunrise and a guided tour of the ruins with the group. This afternoon you return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and to board the train back to Cuzco. You will then be transferred to your hotel.

Day 12Cuzco - Lima

You will be collected from your hotel again to return to the airport. From Cuzco, you will fly to Lima and then take your international flight home.

Day 13Madrid
