The Galapagos Islands
One of the newer vessels to operate in Galapagos and rapidly becoming one of our very favourites with numerous positive reports from returning clients. The main deck cabins have private balconies, a rarity in the Galapagos, and the boat offers one of the most spacious and comfortable ways to explore the islands.
The Athala II is a motor catamaran specifically designed and built to cruise the Galapagos Islands.
Completely refurbished in 2011, its elegant design, superior speed and excellent stability make it one of the most comfortable small vessels in the islands and it offers the generous accommodation and amenities typical of a larger boat while still preserving the relaxed exclusivity of a smaller vessel.
Each of the eight air-conditioned cabins on board is spacious and smartly furnished, with well appointed en-suite bathrooms. They all have ocean views with large picture windows (not portholes) and the main deck cabins have small private balconies.
The main deck has a dining area and separate lounge complete with plasma TVs, lap tops, DVD player, stereo and library. The upper deck has a well-stocked bar, Jacuzzi and an open-air, teak deck area for relaxation, al fresco dining and barbeques.
The huge sundeck is great for whale and dolphin watching or to simply relax and soak up the sun between island excursions and for star gazing in the evenings.
With so many different islands and so much unique wildlife to explore, it's unlikely that you'll experience the same day twice. Use this guide to discover what you might expect to see and do on a typical day in the Galapagos.
