Long term Audley favourites the Eric/Flamingo/Letty have consistently produced excellent trips for our clients. The guides are excellent and the boat layout lends itself easily to a week at sea, not least given the stability of its design.
Eric, Flamingo and Letty are three, near identical, 25 metre motor yachts with capacity for 20 passengers each. The guide to passenger ratio of one to ten is amongst the best in the Galapagos.
Accommodation comprises 10 outside facing cabins spread across three decks. The lower, 'Iguana Deck' is home to four twin-bedded cabins with long portholes providing an average amount of natural light.
Two of these iguana cabins have an upper bunk bed and can be used for triple occupancy. On the middle 'Booby Deck' guests can find the dining area with a bar and lecture room. Towards the stern of the vessel are two double-bedded cabins with panoramic windows. The third tier, or 'Dolphin Deck', contains four twin-bedded cabins, which are all interchangeable into double beds. Again large windows afford good views of the surrounding scenery.
All cabins are finished with teak interior trims and are fully air-conditioned with private bath (hot and cold water showers), soap/shampoo dispensers, hair dryer, closet, intercom and individual climate controls.
Communally, there is a dining room, well-stocked bar and conference area with a flat screen TV and panoramic picture windows. The top sun deck has sun chairs to relax.
Excursions are also given a twist with glass bottomed kayaks available during snorkelling trips. With 20 passengers on board these boats have to carry two guides which results in a guide to passenger ratio of just one to ten, which is almost unmatched in the archipelago.
