Overnight flight from the UK to Borneo.
You will be met at the airport in Kota Kinabalu by an Audley representative and then transferred to your hotel.
Enjoy your first full day away in Kota Kinabalu.
After a leisurely morning you will take a short flight to Sandakan where you will start your jungle adventure with a night at Sepilok Nature Resort. This evening you will head out with your private guide and a local park ranger to explore the jungle as the sun sets! Look out for flying foxes, orang-utan settling down for the night and snakes starting to head out on night time hunts.
Get your first glimpse of an orang-utan today as you visit Sepilok orang-utan rehabilitation centre for the morning feed. From here you will head in to the thick rainforest of the Kinabatangan River where you can grab your binoculars, board your small boat and look out for some of amazing wildlife that is present in big numbers here.

Rise early for a second trip on the river and the chance to visit the nearby ox-bow lake. Breakfast is served back at the lodge.
You have free time back at the lodge to catch up on some sleep or for the more energetic take the jungle trail behind the lodge. Lunch will be served at the lodge.
Enjoy a final trip on the river this afternoon and try to tick some more animals off your list before a final dinner at your lodge.

Leave your lodge early this morning for the transfer to the small town of Lahad Datu where you will change vehicles and meet the staff of Tabin Wildlife Resort. They will take you on the very bumpy journey into the heart of the rainforest.
You will have lunch on arrival before heading out with your guide to explore this stunning area. A 4WD night safari gives you another experience of the jungle.

Spend another day in Tabin on the lookout for pygmy elephant, orang-utan and wild cats as your travel predominantly by 4WD.

A long day of travelling today as you retrace your steps to Lahad Datu before continuing on to Borneo's most famous jungle lodge, Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
Located in the heart of Danum Valley, this is sure to be one of the highlights of your trip. Head out on jungle trails by foot to get close to the action and enjoy being immersed in the primary rainforest.
There is an optional night safari this evening where you may spot some of the jungle's nocturnal inhabitants.

Why not rise early to see and hear the rainforest come alive from your lodge balcony.
After breakfast you will head back out in to the rainforest for the trek to Coffin Cliff where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the lodge and Danum Valley. Stop off at a waterfall on your way back to cool off!
This afternoon you can spend more time on the trails trying to track wildlife or you may have the option to go tubing down the Danum River - a brilliant way to experience the area.
A night walk this evening will give you a new experience of the area around the lodge.

Enjoy a final trip out in the the rainforest today before taking the return transfer to Lahad Datu for your short flight up to Kota Kinabalu.
You will be met here and taken to your beachfront hotel, Shangri-La`s Rasa Ria Resort. After a week in jungle lodges enjoy the choice of several excellent restaurants tonight!

There is plenty to do around the hotel or you may like to do nothing other then relax at the pool or on the beach! Do try and make time to visit the nature reserve to see the young orang-utan they look after here before they are taken to Sepilok to continue their rehabilitation.
