Located in the southern region of central Sabah, just 30 miles from the Indonesia border, Maliau Basin has remained largely untouched due to its inaccessibility.
Wildlife of the Maliau Basin
Researchers in the park over the last 20 years have spotted Sumatran rhino, Asian pygmy elephants, clouded leopards, orang-utans and several species of monkey.
Fitness certificates
Due to its remote nature, fitness certificates are required for the four night visit to this region. Accommodation is in camp dormitories with shared facilities.
