Depart London for Bangkok where you connect with your flight to Rangoon.
On arrival in Rangoon you will be met by your guide and driver and transferred to your hotel.
This morning enjoy a leisurely walking tour of Rangoon's colonial architecture. You will also have chance to stop for refreshments at a traditional teashop. At dusk visit the majestic centrepiece of the city - the Shwedagon Pagoda. Sit and absorb the atmosphere of this spiritual site as local families and communities come to give offerings and worship after a day's work.
Fly to Pagan where you have the rest of the day to explore this incredible temple landscape with a knowledgeable guide.
Today you head out into the countryside surrounding Pagan and into the hills to visit the famous Nat shrines at Mount Popa.
Transfer to the jetty to board the RV Paukan for your two-night cruise to Mandalay along the majestic Irrawaddy.
Enjoy the scenery and service as you cruise towards Mandalay. There will be stops along the way to explore places of interest.
Today the Paukan arrives in Mandalay. You will be met at the jetty and taken to the ancient capitals of Ava and Amarapura as well as the serene Sagaing Hills.
A full day to explore the intricate pagodas, handicraft industries and history of this former royal city. End the day atop Mandalay Hill at sunset.
Fly to Heho and transfer through the Shan countryside to Nyaung Shwe where you will board a longtail boat for the journey to your hotel on Inle Lake. We suggest a brief stop at the interesting Red Mountain Vineyard enroute.
Enjoy a tour of the lake visiting the main temples, cottage industries and the five-day market. At sunset you swap your longtail boat for a small wooden canoe to explore the smaller tributaries of the lake where few tourists venture.
Explore the Indein Pagoda complex today and enjoy some time relaxing at your hotel.
Fly to Rangoon where you have a car and guide available to you for further sightseeing before your flight to Bangkok. Day use of a hotel can be arranged if you prefer.
