Burma

The Governor’s Residence has long been our favourite hotel in Rangoon.
This imposing teak mansion dates back to the 1920s and has been restored to its former glory, standing in its own private grounds in the Embassy Quarter of Rangoon.
The 48 air-conditioned rooms have a teak and cotton theme with splashes of colour provided by vibrant silks.
The hotel’s Mandalay Restaurant serves Burmese specialities as well as French cuisine, while the colonial Kipling Bar is open air, with views over the swimming pool and attractive gardens.
