Tailor Made Holidays in Singapore: Highlights

Enjoy a walking tour of Singapore

Grab yourself a map and head out to explore the city. Singapore's main sights are all easily accessible by foot, and strolling around gives you a great chance to see more of the city. Whether it be the hustle and bustle of Little India or the tranquil Chinese temples throughout the city, Singapore has so much to offer. Taking the time to explore reveals a city packed with with wonderful sights, and a myriad of restaurants and food stalls that cater for every palate.

Rub shoulders with the locals in vibrant Little India

Little India is an assault on the senses, juxtaposed against the order of Singapore. Bustling with crowds of shoppers, the air is filled with the smell of spices and Bollywood music. The focal point of the Indian community, Little India is most alive during festivals, particularly Deepavali, the festival of lights.

Relax at Clarke Quay

Lying near the mouth of the Singapore River, the site of Clarke Quay was the centre of commerce during the late 19th century. Today, Clarke Quay is still buzzing with life and activity. The waterfront godowns now play host to a colourful kaleidoscope of restaurants, wine bars, entertainment spots and retail shops. The bustling market atmosphere of bygone days comes alive amidst the rows of charming shophouses, pushcarts, and five-foot-way merchants. Today, Clarke Quay is a delightful mix of modern and traditional.

Spend time on Sentosa Island

Head over to Sentosa Island for all sorts of entertainment, attractions and activities. In contrast to the city, this island boasts lush greenery and lovely beaches. Activities include anything from nature walks to history tours of the relics left from the Japanese invasion. A particular highlight is the enormous aquarium teeming with hundreds of different types of stunning tropical fish.

Sip a Singapore Sling Cocktail at Raffles Hotel

After a hard day shopping, why not enjoy a delicious Singapore Sling cocktail in the prestigious Raffles Hotel where they were originally made. Part of the tradition here is also to eat peanuts whilst throwing their shells on the floor!

Get to know the Underwater World, Sentosa Island

The Underwater World oceanarium on Sentosa is home to more than 2,500 fish from 250 different species. Start your tour with the Touch Pool for some 'hands on' experience with starfish, stingrays and if you dare, baby sharks. Then venture into the ocean depths via a moving travellator that ferries you through an 83-metre-long acrylic tunnel. All around you, sharks, stingrays, eels and schools of fish glide past – engrossed in their own world. For those who don't mind getting wet, interactive programmes such as 'Dive with the Sharks' or 'Dive with the Dugong' are available with advance booking.

Admire views over Singapore's skyline

Being such a modern city with such sophisticated and fashionable architecture, some of the views over the city from the tower block hotels are absolutely stunning, especially as the sun goes down. If you would like, we can always try to book a room as high up the towers as possible and upgrading to the club rooms will guarantee a room at the top.

Visit Singapore Zoo

The Singapore Zoo is a model of the 'open zoo' concept. The animals are kept in spacious, landscaped enclosures, separated from visitors by dry or wet moats. The moats are concealed with vegetation or dropped below the line of vision. In the case of dangerous animals such as leopards and jaguars which can climb very well, moat barriers are not used. Instead, these animals are housed in beautifully landscaped glass-fronted enclosures. Oppressive cages which typify old zoos are absent and the end result is a feeling of openness.

Enjoy yourself at an airport!

Arguably one of the best airports in the world, with enough facilities to keep you busy for a week! Between your flights you can watch a movie, get your hair done, go to the gym, have a massage or even enjoy a city tour of Singapore if your transit times allows.
