Bronze site discovered in Vietnam: 11-12-2007

An archaeological site containing metallurgy tools and pottery that date back over 3,000 years has been found in central Vietnam.
According to reports from the local newspaper, Pioneer, a number of bronze models and bronze refining tools as well as over 126,000 pieces of pottery and eight tombs were found at the site.
Discovered by the Vietnam Archaeology Institute, the site is a 50-square metre area in Vinh Yen in the Van Ninh district.
The site was once an ancient village that relied on agriculture, pottery and bronze casting.
As a result of the find, scientists are expected to conduct further research into the pre-historic life in the locality and the possibility or archaeology-related tourism opportunities.
Culture in Vietnam is much influenced by China and education and self-betterment are valued very highly.
Vietnamese cuisine is also very similar to Chinese and is known for using very little oil and plenty of vegetables, with the main dishes often based on rice, soy sauce and fish sauce.
