This property is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious in Indonesia.
The garden suites are dotted around the verdant cliffs with views in to the jungle and the ocean suites are position on the hill edge to overlook the Lombok Strait and offer the ultimate in privacy and tranquillity.
Each suite features a large bedroom with wide window views, a canopied, king-size bed and a writing desk. The bathroom is divided, with a window-side divan, a soaking tub and separate shower and toilet rooms which give way to coconut-shell dressing areas and double terrazzo vanities. The suite’s outdoor terrace is furnished with a daybed, coconut-shell table and rattan chairs (the pool suites have a private pool and sunning terrace in the terrace area).
For total opulence the Amankila suite includes two separate pavilions opening onto a large terrace with a private aquamarine-tile pool, two lounging bales, sun beds, lily ponds, limitless views over the beach and Amuk Bay and includes private butler service.
Trekking and mountain biking are available for the more active (although the mountain biking can be done as a downhill trip only if you wish!) and stunning paddy fields, textile villages, and small shrines and temples can all be visited on these trips with or without a guide.
The hotel has a floodlit tennis court only five minutes away and at the Beach Club guests can boogie board, kayak, sail a Hobbiecat or windsurf. You may like to treat yourself to a cruise on the Aman XVI, a 36ft vessel with sundeck and some shaded area used mainly for private sunrise or lunch cruises across to the rugged island of Nusa Penida.
