Day 1London
Begin your trip with an overnight flight from London to Jakarta.
Day 2Singapore - Jakarta
Arrive in to Jakarta where you will need to obtain your visa ($US$25pp for 30 days) before your private guide meets you for the one hour transfer to your hotel.
Today you will get your first taste of Java with a city tour of Jakarta - Indonesia's capitol and with a population of some 19 million people one of the largest cities in the world.
Escape the city as you travel east to the town of Bandung. On route you will stop at Bogor's botanical gardens.
Today you will see your first of Indonesia's many volcanos - Tangkuban Prahu. Spend the day exploring the slopes, sulphur lakes and geysers before visiting a local tea plantation. End the day with a soak in nearby hot springs.
Day 6Bandung - Wonosobo
Take a scenic train journey through the Javan countryside to the hill town of Wonosobo in the heart of central Java.
Today you will head to into the Dieng Plateau where you will see some of Java's oldest temples in beautiful surrounds.
Continue on to Yogyakarta stopping at Borobudur on route. Sure to be one of the highlights of your time away, Borobudur is the largest Buddhist relic in the world and has some of the most detailed reliefs of any Buddhist structure.
Before heading to your hotel you will make a short stop in Candijero village to see a tourism initiative set up to help the local community.
This morning you will visit the Kraton (Sultan's Palace) and explore the city. later in the day your guide will take you to the huge Hindu complex of Prambanan.
Free time to explore the city at your own pace.
Take a train journey from central Java to east Java - a long but interesting way to see parts of the island that you would normally miss.
On arrival in Surabaya you will be taken to your hotel.
You have a chance to see the sights of Surabaya with a city tour today.
You have a long journey to the Mount Bromo area today but can break it up with stops on route and there are some fantastic views as you climb the windy roads.
Rise early today for one of the most spectacular sights in the world - sun rise over Mount Bromo.
After making your way to the crater and climbing to the rim of the smoking Mount Bromo you will then head off to the quaint Dutch influenced town of Malang.
Enjoy a cooking class today, including a visit to the local market for a real flavour of local life.
Travel back to Surabaya for the overnight flight home.
