Overnight flight from the UK to Sumatra.
Your guide will greet you after you complete visa formalities (US$25pp) and collect your luggage.
You have the day in Medan.
Day 3Medan - Tangkahan
You have a three hour drive in to the jungles of Tangkahan where you start you itinerary proper with a trek in to the rainforest!
*You can leave your main luggage at the hotel as you are coming back here.
Day 4Tangkahan
This morning you will visit a nearby elephant sanctuary for a very hands-on experience! You can get involved in feeding the elephants and bathing them in the river (prepare to get wet!). You will then ride your elephant through the dense jungle and have the chance to be the mahout (elephant driver).
After freshening up back at the lodge you will go tubing for roughly an hour downstream; a great way to take in the flora and fauna. Lunch will be prepared for you as you take a dip beneath a remote waterfall.
Another section of tubing allows for a snooze as lunch goes down. You then take a walk back to your lodge via local tribal villages.
This morning you will head in to the forest on foot with your guide, who can explain the various uses of each plant and tree.
This afternoon you transfer along very rough roads to Bukit Lawang, where the evening is free to relax by the river.
This morning you will be trekking through the rainforest of Bukit Lawang National Park. Regular sightings here include orang-utan, thomas-leaf monkey (indigenous to Sumatra) and gibbon. Even if you don't meet them out in the jungle then you can see the orang-utans at the morning feeding session at the rehabilitation centre.
After lunch you will be driven to Medan, taking roughly three hours. Here you can get a hot shower and enjoy a very comfortable bed!
You will be taken to the airport for the flight to Jakarta where you will change planes and fly to Yogyakarta.
On arrival you will be met and driven to your hotel which is around 30 minutes away.
Rise early to see the sunrise over Borobudur. Your private guide can explain the story behind each section of this incredible temple, which rivals the temples of Angkor.
You then head in to the nearby rural villages for a short tour before returning to your hotel and the rest of the day is free at leisure.
Explore the town of Jogja today, with particular focus on the ancient Kraton.
Drive to Semarang on Java's north coast where you will take a flight to Pangkalan Bun on the island of Borneo.
On arrival you will be met by your local guide and driven to the nearby port to meet your crew and board the simple 'Klotok' boat which will take you up river to your lodge.
The itinerary in Kalimantan is flexible and can be discussed with your guide. Tanjung Puting is a remote national park offering the most intimate experience a traveller can have with orang-utan.

Your expert guide will be in touch with the park rangers to make sure that you are spending time in the best areas to see wildlife at any given time.
This morning you will return to dry land for a short drive to the airport where you will take a flight to Surabaya in eastern Java.
On arrival you will be met and driven to your historic hotel.
Private transfer to the airport for the flight to Bali where you will be met on arrival and driven to Ubud which is around 90 minutes away.
This is a great place to watch the world go by from a range of cafes and restaurants. The arts and crafts scene is very lively here and you will have great fun haggling with the traders.
Enjoy the day at leisure to explore Ubud at your pace.
Enjoy a memorable day today as you meet a local Balinese family who will take you to their village where you will try a cooking class in their home.
You will be picked up from your hotel early this morning and taken to the airport in time for your short flight to the island of Flores.
The views from this flight are stunning on a clear day as you enter the dramatic volcanic scenery of west Nusa Tenggara.
You will be met on arrival and taken to your beachfront hotel.
Your guide will escort you to your private boat to start your adventure.
This afternoon you explore Rinca Island before dinner onboard and a night under the stars.
Breakfast is accompanied by sunrise over Komodo Island. After trekking on the island you will explore remote beaches and some fantastic snorkelling sites.
An early start for your transfer back to the airport in time for the flight to Denpasar.
On arrival you will be met for a private transfer to your hotel in Sanur, a stretch a golden sand just 30 minutes from the airport with a great choice of restaurants.
