Visit Bali, Indonesia
Bali, with its glorious beaches, rice-terraced mountains and vivid Hindu culture, has attracted writers and artists since the beginning of last century but they have done little to change the islanders’ traditional way of life.

People say that the Balinese people have reached self-content.
The Balinese people are proud of having preserved their unique Hindu culture against the advance of Islam, the dominant religion throughout Indonesia. This is still reflected in day to day life and can be seen in the numerous ceremonies, festivals and magnificent temples and palaces.
The Balinese are skilled artisans and are also noted for their traditional dance, the distinctive music of the gamelan and for their skills in weaving cloth.
The rise of tourism on Bali since artists began flocking here in the 60's has not changed local customs and still today it is the law in Bali that no building can be higher than a palm tree.
Getting under the skin of Bali
Bali can be whatever you want it to be and you will have your own reasons for choosing to go to here. By making a small effort to speak to hotel staff, or locals you might run in to on the beach or around the villages you can open up a whole new world. Traditional temple ceremonies, cock fights, cremations, sacrifices and local homes can all be seen with help from friendly local people but you will need to step out of your comfort zone to witness these.
With no set schedules these types of activities are very difficult to arrange in advance and those that are pre-arranged generally cater to western tastes. We have had many happy clients return and by and large the most memorable times have been the unplanned moments that capture your passion for travel.
We have a team of local guides that are there to help so please do speak to them about the type of tour you are looking for when you meet them. We are very flexible in our itineraries and you can make amendments if you decide to do so. Hotel managers and staff are great reference points and introductions from them can lead to memorable encounters.
