    The northern part of Laos is a remote region that sees few tourists. Heading north from the Thai border towards China, the town of Luang Nam Tha is the gateway to the Nam Ha National Park, with countless opportunities to explore on foot, by kayak and on mountain bikes. A little further south you will stumble upon the picturesque area of Muang La and the dramatic valley of Nong Khiaw before arriving by road or boat at the cultural centre of Luang Prabang.

Muang La Resort

Located in the heart of northern Laos, this small, elegant resort really is an oasis in the wilderness and is the perfect place to relax and unwind for a night or two.

A maximum of 12 guests stay in six individually decorated bungalows, all dotted around a charming garden area next to the Nam Kor River. The resort has channelled some natural hot springs to create a small elevated hot tub with great views over the river and surrounding countryside.

Dinner is served at the stylish terrace restaurant that offers a delicious array of local Lao food and French specialities, and on cool winter evenings a cosy open fire is lit.
