It is built in an elegant colonial style and became a listed building when the city was made a world heritage site in 1995.
It was renovated in 2002 and converted to a boutique property by a local architect making the most of its garden courtyard and river views as well as furnishing it with a mixture of antique and locally handcrafted furniture in order to create one of the town's attractive new accommodation options.
Once the ancient capital of northern Laos, sleepy Luang Prabang has retained much of its majesty and tranquility, it's now a UNESCO protected site.
