  • The North

The northern part of Laos is a remote region that sees few tourists. Heading north from the Thai border towards China, the town of Luang Nam Tha is the gateway to the Nam Ha National Park, with countless opportunities to explore on foot, by kayak and on mountain bikes. A little further south you will stumble upon the picturesque area of Muang La and the dramatic valley of Nong Khiaw before arriving by road or boat at the cultural centre of Luang Prabang.

Villa Maly

Luang Prabang

Only 15 minutes drive from the international airport Villa Maly is situated in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the main historical attractions and places of interest. Set amidst tranquil gardens the hotel is an idyllic haven.

The hotel has an Art Deco style which is combined with an original blend of French and British colonial furnishings. The ambiance is residential, as if one were staying in a private villa.

The central building was formally the private residence of nobility. Its original splendour was derived from the 1920s and it evokes a sense of the French past. There are five low rise buildings each named after a flower commonly found in Laos.

There are 33 guest rooms spread amongst these buildings, each with its own special view of the garden and pool. Each room is a minimum of 33 square metres and is subtly arranged to incorporate the time-honoured Laotian architecture with an essence of the colonial past.

Wooden parquet floors, four poster beds, mahogany armoires and classic fans, surrounded with ornately decorated walls with rich hues of colours and textures, produce an exuberant luxurious ambiance suitable for the privileged.

All rooms feature en-suite bathroom and come equipped with modern amenities including a rain shower. All deluxe rooms have private balconies.
