Day by Day

Day 1London

Fly from London to Bangkok with Thai Airways today.

Day 2Bangkok - Chiang Rai

Connect in Bangkok airport this morning for your onward flight to Chiang Rai. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your riverside hotel in Chiang Rai.

Day 3Chiang Rai - Huay Xai - Pakbeng

Cross the border into Laos today and board the wonderful Luang Say cruise down the Mekong towards Luang Prabang. Stop this evening in an atmospheric lodge on the riverbank outside Pakbeng.

Day 4Pakbeng - Luang Prabang

Continue south today to reach the historic centre of Luang Prabang at the confluence of the Khan and Mekong river. Here you will be met at the riverside and transferred to your hotel.

Day 5Luang Prabang

At leisure to explore Luang Prabang, be sure to rise early to witness the unique sight of saffron robed monks collecting their alms.

Day 6Luang Prabang

Second day at leisure to explore the kaleidoscopic temples and faded colonial charm of the UNESCO protected town.

Day 7Luang Prabang - Vientiane

After a final morning at leisure in Luang Prabang take a short flight onto Vientiane this afternoon. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the reminder of the day exploring Laos's sleepy capital, perhaps taking a stroll along the Mekong at sunset.

Day 8Vientiane - Hanoi

Morning at leisure to explore - be sure to visit the national monument of Pha That Luang. This afternoon take a short flight to Hanoi to begin your exploration of Vietnam. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend this afternoon familiarising yourself with the bustling Old Quarter.

Day 9Hanoi

A full day to explore the sights and sounds of Hanoi, explore the warren like maze of the Vietnamese quarter or perhaps consider a visit to one of the city's famous museums such as Hoa Lu prison, or the Hanoi Hilton.

Day 10Hanoi

A final day to explore Hanoi - you may chose to explore the Ho Chi Minh complex with a visit to his eponymous museum and rise early to visit his mausoleum.

Day 11Hanoi - Halong City

Morning transfer to Halong City, where you will board your traditional Vietnamese junk. Spend the afternoon cruising around Halong Bay`s thousands of limestone islets and caves.

Day 12Halong City - Hanoi - Hue

Wake up to see sunrise over the bay. Continue your cruising before returning to Hanoi this afternoon in time for your flight to Hue. On arrival transfer to your central hotel.

Day 13Hue

Enjoy a trip on the romantic Perfume river this morning to the impressive tomb of Minh Mang and the Thien Mu pagoda. On your return to the city spend the afternoon at leisure where you may choose to visit the ancient citadel, an important relic from the imperial days.

Day 14Hue - Hoi An

Drive over the dramatic Hai Van Pass to Hoi An today stopping en route in the Marble Mountains and to learn more about the Cham people at the small museum in Danang.

Day 15Hoi An

Day at leisure to explore the cobbled streets of Hoi An today. Try and resist the lure of the hundreds of tailors in town!

Day 16Hoi An

Second day to explore Hoi An - you may choose to visit the nearby beach or take a cycle ride through the verdant rice paddies that surround the town.

Day 17Hoi An - Danang - Saigon

Return to Danang today for your morning flight to Saigon. On arrival your driver and guide will collect you from the airport and transfer you to your city centre hotel. En route you will stop and explore the infamous Cu Chi tunnels, where you can learn how the Viet Cong lived and fought during the conflict. The rest of this afternoon can be spent exploring bustling Saigon at your leisure.

Day 18Saigon - Can Tho

This morning you wind your way through the backwaters of the Mekong Delta towards Can Tho.

Day 19Can Tho - Chau Doc

Rise early to head out for your private tour of the Cai Rang floating market, the largest of its kind in the Delta. Continue to Chau Doc on the border with Cambodia this afternoon.

Day 20Chau Doc - Phnom Penh

Cross into Cambodia by speedboat today arriving into Phnom Penh at lunchtime today. This afternoon explore some of Phnom Penh's turbulent history with your guide.

Day 21Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

This morning you are free to explore some more of Phnom Penh's sights and perhaps take some time to visit the shops! This afternoon take the short flight onto Siem Reap.

Day 22Siem Reap

A full day to explore the temples of Angkor today beginning your day with a visit to jungle encased Ta Prohm this morning. Continue to the ancient city of Angkor Thom, confronting the colossal faces of the Bayon. Your day will culminate with exploring the majestic Angkor Wat, a truly breathtaking sight.

Day 23Siem Reap

Day at leisure in Siem Reap. Your Angkor pass is valid for today so you may choose to continue exploring more temples or perhaps spend the time exploring Siem Reap town.

Day 24Siem Reap - Bangkok

Fly back to Bangkok today and connect for your lunchtime return flight to London, arriving back in the UK this evening.
