Fly with Thai Airways on lunchtime flight from Heathrow.
Connect in Bangkok for local flight to Chiang Rai. Private transfer to hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in this tranquil riverside location.
A private transfer to the border crossing into Laos. Your Laos guide will then drive you north into the mountains, to Luang Nam Tha. The drive takes you through some stunning and remote scenery.
Spend the day trekking in Luang Nam Tha National Park.
Driving southeast, you pass through more beautiful countryside and arrive in Muang La, a remote village deep in the heart of northern Laos. Overnight in a lovely boutique resort and enjoy a soak in a hot tub before dinner.

Continuing through northern Laos today you reach the riverside community at Nong Khiaw. Stay in a wooden bungalow on stilts on the banks of the River Ou.

Boarding a small private boat this morning you chug leisurely downriver to Luang Prabang. The scenery along the way is wonderful and you can stop en route to visit local villages. Arriving in Luang Prabang mid afternoon you will be met at the jetty and transferred to your hotel.
A chance to take part in a ritual that has been going on in this spiritual town since time immemorial - alms giving to the local population of monks at dawn. You then return to your hotel for breakfast before spending the day with your own private guide and driver exploring the delights of Luang Prabang followed by a trip to the scenic waterfalls at Kuang Si.
