UNESCO sites Malacca and George Town were once cities which rose from humble fishing villages to become major centres of the spice trade. Four centuries of European influence have left behind rich cultural icons including Dutch churches, remnants of ruined Portuguese and British fortresses and imposing town halls.

Accommodation in Malaysia: Casa Del Mar

One of our favourite resorts in Malaysia. The attention to detail is very noticeable and the service is personal and friendly. It comes highly recommended.

Families

Whilst the hotel has no formal children's club, they are very much welcome and will be well cared for by the hotel staff.

Environment & Social Responsibility

In "light" of global warming concerns, we have commenced a number of initiatives to reduce our environmental impact. The staff have started recycling aluminium cans, paper and plastics. The money made on recycling is being donated to the staff fund to ensure they are encouraged to recycle as much as we 'can'.

Secondly, we have been trying to kick our 58,000 plastic bottles a year habit. The largest improvement we have made in this area is to install high grade water filters which filter all water entering the rooms. This will allow you, the guests, to make the choice between plastic or water from the tap. We also offer free bottle refill stations at the gym and in the Restaurant. With the implementation of some of these measures, we believe that so far this year we have halved our habit to 29,000 per year. With your help, we can reduce this even further.
