Malaysia`s picture perfect white sand beaches and year round travel season means they are the envy of their Southeast Asian neighbours! UNESCO sites Malacca and George Town were once cities which rose from humble fishing villages to become major centres of the spice trade. Four centuries of European influence have left behind rich cultural icons including Dutch churches, remnants of ruined Portuguese and British fortresses and imposing town halls.

Located by a seemingly endless stretch of white sand beach and the warm waters of the South China Sea, the Tanjong Jara’s architecture reflects the styles of the Malay Archipelago and features luxurious rooms nestled in lush, tropical, landscaped gardens.

There are three choices of accommodation and all the rooms benefit from every facility and amenity you would expect from a 5 star resort. The wonderfully spacious ten 'Anjung' rooms are situated along the beach front and have a sunken outdoor bath set in its own private garden, as well as a canopied verandah overlooking the gardens and sea.

The 44 'Serambi' rooms are situated on the ground floor of attractive two-storey buildings and have a verandah. The 44 first floor 'Bumbung' rooms have the same generous lay out as the Serambi rooms but do not have the verandah.

The resort offers two main restaurants, one focuses on Asian cuisine and the other on the wonderful seafood of the area. There is also the Teratai Terrace for light meals during the day and drinks in the evening. Room service and a private BBQ on your terrace are available with excellent menus (the BBQ is not possible for Bumbung rooms).

A wealth of other facilities can be found including two swimming pools; a gym; the internationally awarded Spa Village; two private tennis courts and golf can also be arranged at one of the nearby courses. From the watersports centre you can hire kayaks and equipment for windsurfing. Those interested in diving should note that there is a good dive centre (closed 1st November - 28th February) at the resort who take you to the quiet island of Pulau Tenggol for snorkelling or diving.

The resort provides shared excursions to places of interest in the surrounding area such as trips to local villages and mangrove cruises on the Marang River. These generally change daily on a weekly cycle so if there are certain activities you are keen to do please speak to your specialist who will be able to arrange them on a private basis in advance.
