This visit to Bangaan is an introduction to the mountain tribes and is a prelude to visits to other villages.
Return to the centre of Banaue to visit the market and the handicraft center to see samples of Ifugao craftsmanship which include woodcarving, silver and brass trinkets, baskets and the weaving of the Ifugao cloth which comes in distinctive patterns.
From the market, it is possible to proceed to the village of Poitan which has the unique feature of its houses built on straight rows and in the village center is a large rock believed to the be dwelling place of the spirits of the villagers’ ancestors.
From Poitan, trek back to the hotel.
