The latest junk to ply the waters of Halong Bay is the luxurious Violet, a beautiful marriage of traditional Vietnamese elegance and modern comfort.

It has just six cabins and four of these are suites.  All cabins come with all the amenities you would expect in a hotel - air conditioning, mini bar, private balcony, LCD TV and DVD, and even a jacuzzi.  Some also come with a personal butler.

The decor is stylish, Italian marble and king-size beds coming as standard, and the attention to detail superb throughout. Service is personal and friendly and the food served on board is second to none.

This is without doubt set to become the benchmark for luxury cruises in this UNESCO World Heritage protected bay.
