Ban Ho Valley Trek
Sapa & the Tonkinese Alps, Northwest Vietnam, Vietnam
This new excursion begins with a transfer by car to the start of your trek near Thank Kim. From here you start the walk on a small trail running downhill toward the Thanh Phu suspension bridge set over the beautiful Muong Bo River.
The walk is through the beautiful rice paddy terraces and you have many opportunities to enjoy magnificent valley views and encounter water buffalos, goats or mountain pigs, which belong to the nearby Tay and Red Dao minorities, but are free to roam wild. You will then have lunch on a top of a hill with magnificent view down to Ban Ho valley or in a local house near the Thanh Phu Bridge.
After lunch you will walk along Muong Bo River to Ban Ho village, inhabited by the Tay minority people. If time and weather permits, you can enjoy a rest and refreshing swim at the Lavie Waterfall.
Ban Ho is situated in the large picturesque valley on both banks of the Muong Bo River, on arrival you can witness the daily activities of the villagers before transferring back to Sapa.
This is a moderate day's trekking with no strenuous hikes, the total walking time is approximately five hours with two hours total driving time.
