This tour is specifically designed for those people that want to escape the cold British weather in February and step into the glorious Namibian summer. February is Namibia’s green season when flowers carpet the gravel plains and mountains, animals give birth and birds are in bright breeding plumage. Out of peak tourist season the country is quiet, and you can enjoy exclusive game drives and boat trips and the feeling that you have the country to yourselves.
Starting in Windhoek and ending at the Victoria Falls the tour visits four national parks, Etosha in northern Namibia, Mahangu and Bwabwata in the Caprivi Strip and Chobe in Botswana.
It will suit the wildlife enthusiast who will be able to see a variety of game in vastly differing habitats. Etosha offers the opportunity to see big game against the stark backdrop of the Etosha pan. Lion, rhino, cheetah and elephant are some of the specialities here.
Mahangu and Bwabwata are known for beautiful birds as well as large herds of elephants whilst Chobe is renowned for big prides of lion as well as buffalo, elephant, leopard and more.
Travelling by road through the Caprivi Strip you will pass numerous small farming villages where goats and chickens wander over the road. There will be the chance to barter in local markets, have picnics beside waterholes, and sundowner drinks on boats on the Kwando and Chobe Rivers.
The trip ends with two nights relaxing beside the Zambezi River near to the Victoria Falls. In February the water levels are high and the Falls spectacular.
With an expert guide throughout you will gain a true insight to both Namibia and Botswana.
