On This Trip
  • Explore Lhasa's cultural highlights
  • Marvel at the Terracotta Warriors in Xian

One of the most mysterious countries in the world for centuries, today’s Tibet welcomes travellers from all over the world to experience the simple spirituality of the lifestyle and join the pilgrims on their circumambulations.

The tour combines visits to the smoky, atmospheric monasteries and temples with travels through the beautiful and dramatic scenery of the Tibetan plateau. You will visit the holiest of temples in Lhasa, as well as heading out to the cities of Shigatse, Gyantse and Tsetang to see less-visited sights.

The tour travels to Tibet through China on the spectacular new Lhasa Express train and is timed to coincide with the clear skies of autumn when the views of the mountains are at their finest. The transport will be by private coach throughout and your local guide in Tibet will be ethnic Tibetan to help you understand the way of life. As Tibet is extremely remote, the accommodation is not of a high standard but the hotels are clean and comfortable, with a higher quality of hotel in Beijing to end the trip.
