Malaysia is perfect for a family self-drive holiday
Despite the long flying time to get to Malaysia, very few vaccinations are required and the country is relatively developed so it is easy to get familiar food and other products.
Travelling around is also very straightforward. We usually arrange for you to have a chauffeur-guide, but it is also possible to have your own vehicle and create a self-drive itinerary. They drive on the left, and the roads are of good quality with signs in English, so there is relatively little stress involved.
Food is a great highlight of any trip to Malaysia and with the cosmopolitan mix of people living throughout the country it is easy to get hold of Chinese, Indian, Thai, Malay and western food in most places.
An itinerary can include visits to museums in Penang and KL, as well as wildlife spotting in the Taman Negara National Park, some walking amongst tea plantations in the Cameron Highlands and time on the beach in Langkawi.
