"One of the most rewarding journeys I have done was along the Silk Route, opening my eyes to the lifestyles and landscapes of these remote but welcoming places."
Ben Colbridge, The Silk Route Specialist
From Alexander the Great to Genghis Khan the mighty Silk Road has played host to an eclectic mix of people for over 2000 years.
A relatively untouched region of the world until recently, the Silk Road had proven quite difficult to access. The demise of the Soviet Union, however, has had a positive effect on this area of the world and the region has now opened its doors to tourism.
A typical journey to this area of the world is likely to incorporate the Central Asian countries of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan as well as China.
