Taman Negara National Park, Malaysia
If you're interested in a walking holiday in Malaysia, why not speak to one of our Malaysia specialists directly, or fill in our online quote request form.
Taman Negara National Park, just a few hours’ drive north of Kuala Lumpur, has a wealth of trails best explored with one of the excellent guides on a walking holiday in Malaysia.
A favourite is the walk to the top of Tersik Hill, where there are stunning views of the rainforest and, on clear days, across to peninsular Malaysia’s highest point, Mount Tahan.
For an "up-close" perspective, you can return via one of the 450 metre long aerial walkways high up in the rainforest canopy, a humbling experience.
Other walking options in the park include hikes to caves and the chance to encounter nomadic Batek tribes, while night walks reveal the nocturnal fauna including the tiny mouse deer.
19 days from £2,995pp
A 19 day trip that takes in most of Peninsula Malaysia including Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Taman Negara, the Cameron Highlands, Penang and Langkawi.
The Cameron Highlands is a wonderfully unspoiled region of lofty mountains, tea plantations, forests and waterfalls. It’s great for walkers and it's possible to visit remote villages of the Orang Asli people.
Just a couple of hours drive south of Kuala Lumpur and approximately 90 minutes from the international airport, Malacca is accessible and well worth a weekend visit, when the markets are at their best.
Penang is a mix of ancient temples, fascinating villages with thriving local markets and wonderful beaches. Penang National Park in the northwest corner of the island makes a great day trip.
Highlights of Kuala Lumpur include Chinatown’s busy markets, the elegant colonial buildings of Merdeka Square and the Petronas Towers. There are also many high quality hotels in the city.
