This video is of humpback whales feeding on capelin and mackerel close to the dock in Triton, Newfoundland, Canada.
Though, only medium sized for a whale (11 to 17 metres), the humpback is instantly recognisable by its enormous flippers, the hump on its back and the hair follicles along its jaws.
They have a wide range of prey, some of which they catch using the dramatic 'bubble-netting' technique.
Widely dispersed in the oceans they use a complex range of songs to communicate.
