Polar region holiday ideas

We work solely with the smaller expedition vessels that sail in Antarctica, and we firmly believe that a Polar region wildlife tour to this amazing region should involve specialist guiding and as many disembarkations as possible. This is what the large cruise ships cannot provide.

Gentoo penguins, AntarcticaAn Audley holiday to either Antarctica or the Arctic ensures you get off the ship on zodiac expeditions, whether to land on specific islands or the mainland itself, or spot wildlife from the water. Between excursions, all ships provide lectures and presentations about the history, ecology and geology of the region.

Note all of these ships operate in both polar regions, alternating between the two depending on the season.

The Peregrine ships will give you a true expedition voyage with excellent guides who really know their subjects. The ships also operate an open-bridge policy; this is a great place to spend time wildlife-spotting or watching the Captain and his officers at work.
