Holiday Ideas in April: At the Devil's Throat, Iguaçu Falls, Argentina
The border between Brazil and Argentina is home to one of the world’s greatest natural phenomena - the Iguaçu Falls. The falls straddle the boarder between Brazil and northern Argentina (you can see them from both sides), where the Iguaçu River approaches the 3km wide precipice.
At the Devil's Throat, Iguaçu Falls, Argentina
The Iguaçu Falls consist of 275 separate falls which crash over a horseshoe-shaped precipice, nearly five kilometres wide and 90 metres high. The finest overall view of the falls is from the Brazilian side, as it is said that 'Argentina puts on the show and Brazil enjoys the view'. A short walk on well marked trails takes you to some magnificent vantage points for panoramic vistas.
We regard April as one of the best times to visit as the waters are swollen with summer rainfall and the falls are at their most dramatic. Pack a raincoat and a plastic bag for your camera!
