British Columbia or "BC" as it is commonly known, is home to an immense diversity of wildlife; bears (black and grizzly), wolves, caribou, moose, whales can all be seen. In addition, each January a month long festival celebrates the largest gathering of Bald Eagles anywhere in the world.
From November to February, the largest gathering of Bald Eagles anywhere in the world takes place. Located in Brackendale, BC, thousands of these beautiful birds of prey line the trees on the shore of the Squamish River, attracted by the abundance of spawning salmon. In January, there's a month long eagle-centered festival which is centred around the local art gallery with a photo contest, eagle art show, and eagle tours.
Together, the regions of British Columbia and Alberta provide enormous tracts of pristine wilderness, incredible diversity of wildlife, plus some of North America's most prominent cities.
