Graceland itself is a modest home, considering Elvis was one of the world's most successful entertainers. Back in the 1950s it was considered one of the most desirable properties in Memphis. These days Elvis Presley Boulevard is lined with motels, fast-food outlets and souvenir shops, but a tour of the mansion is a fascinating insight into the life of the 'King', frozen in time with seventies decor. Make sure you visit the Meditation Garden, the final resting place of Elvis, and the 'Wall of Love' covered with messages from his many fans.
