New Brunswick is the largest of Canada’s three Maritime provinces and also the only officially bilingual province (French and English) in the entire country. Famous for the highest tides on earth, it is a place of pretty coastal towns and villages, beautiful national parks and diverse marine life.
The Atlantic International Balloon Fiesta came about simply as a novel way of extending the local tourist season, the date was 1985. Since then, every September balloonists from all over the country have been invited to the Sussex area for a weekend of flying. It provides a great spectacle for any visiting tourists especially in this pretty part of New Brunswick.
New Brunswick is renowned for being home to the Bay of Fundy, washed each day by the world’s highest tides. It has some wonderful national parks which are enchanting retreats from the modern world.
