The end of September is post-Monsoon season in this area of India, and an ideal time to explore the wetland reserve in Bharatpur. Hundreds of species of bird live in this area, and in September the marshlands and lakes are inhabited by migratory birds as well as resident birds. Bharatpur and Keoladeo Ghana National Park

The Keoladeo Ghana National Park is arguably India's most spectacular bird sanctuary. Close to Agra, this small park was created by the Maharaja of Bharatpur to hold duck shoots but later became a sanctuary and now attracts an abundance of birdlife.
