Holiday Ideas in September: Hiking in Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, USA

The cooler temperatures during September make it an ideal time of year for hiking and enjoying the different landscapes, rock formations and incredible views that both Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks have to offer.

Hiking in Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, USA

There are a network of walking trails around the Bryce Canyon National Park to choose from, offering a chance to get up close to its unique and oddly shaped rock formations known as ‘hoodoos’ and to take in the canyon’s spectacular panoramic views. Possibly the most dramatic of these is from Bryce Point. From here you can look upon most of the park itself as well as the Henry and Escalante Mountains.

It is certainly worthwhile spending time on foot exploring Zion National Park’s many beautiful walking trails as well. The massive sandstone monoliths jutting skyward are easily as impressive as the depths of the Grand Canyon. A majestic region of sheer cliffs, riverine forests and cascading waterfalls, the park is a riot of colour from sunrise to sunset.
