Biography
Sarah first discovered her enthusiasm for travel when spending six months visiting Australia and Indonesia on her gap year prior to university.
After completing her degree she began working in the Event Management field but soon succumbed to her passion for travel in the form of a two year trip around the world. Throughout this trip she visited South East Asia, New Zealand and the South Pacific and also spent a year working for a travel company in Sydney.
Having spent six years at Audley Travel Sarah has taken full advantage of her position and has also travelled to Africa, more of Asia and much of Central America. She now has comprehensive knowledge of the many regions we travel to and is responsible for designing our extensive and exciting round the world itineraries.
Outside of work she enjoys cycling and travelling as much as possible.
My Most Memorable Experience
A real highlight of my last trip to Australia was visiting the remote Aboriginal community of Cave Hill on an exciting tour called Desert Tracks. I travelled two and a half hours south of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, across exciting 4WD territory and over the South Australian border into the true outback.
The day was a fascinating cultural exploration as I met with three generations of Cave Hill locals and learnt how Aboriginal life and culture has changed over thousands of years. Stanley, a local Aboriginal elder, happily answered my questions and showed me the beautiful Cave Hill cave paintings.
These amazing paintings are not only a highlight of the tour but possibly the most significant art site in central Australia and are estimated to be twenty two thousand years old. It was a truly outstanding experience.
My Favourite Destination

I loved my recent visit to Guatemala; the country is beautiful and full of colour, culture and history.
The few days I spent in Antigua, the former capital city were incredible, the atmosphere here is like nowhere else I’ve visited. Multi coloured colonial buildings line the pretty cobbled streets and beyond the buildings the city is surrounded by three volcanoes, making the view in all directions captivating.
Antigua has actually been destroyed many times by mudslides and earthquakes so they moved the capital to Guatemala City and have protected Antigua as a UNESCO world heritage site. It is definitely worth a visit and if you like people watching this really is the place to do it.
My Favourite Accommodation

A property I love is the Selous Safari Camp, sitting on the fringe of Lake Nzerakera in Southern Tanzania. The camp has an amazing position for wildlife viewing with the twelve luxury tents looking out to the lake.
The tents themselves are large and spacious, with fantastic outdoor showers. They are decorated in a wonderful colonial style and it doesn’t feel like any detail has been missed. The main lounge and dining room are raised on stilts above the trees to make the most of the breeze and the view.
Sitting here under the stars enjoying amazing food with a glass of chilled white wine after a full day on safari is what I had hoped an African safari experience would be.
