Biography

After graduating and working in Trading Standards for two years, Zoe embarked on a nine month travelling adventure. She started by visiting Fiji, New Zealand and Australia before taking in the delights of Southeast Asia and China. Not only did she discover a love of travelling, but she also realised that working in the travel industry would be her career of choice when returning home. Joining Audley has allowed Zoe to return to the beautiful and fascinating countries of Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. It also means she can now share her passion and knowledge regarding Indochina with others. Outside of work Zoe enjoys photography, walking and planning her next holiday!

Favourite Destination - Siem Reap

"Siem Reap is the town closest to the magnificent temples of Angkor; this being the main reason for Siem Reap being my favourite destination. I find the history behind the temples fascinating and could spend days wandering around the various temples admiring them and soaking up the atmosphere.

There is more to Siem Reap than just the temples though, for example the pretty Tonle Sap lake is a lovely day trip from the town. Also, the town itself is an interesting place to walk around and the boutique shops, market and variety of eateries are enough to keep anyone occupied.

For me, Siem Reap has it all culture, history, architecture and some superb places to eat and stay - what more could anyone ask for!"

Favourite Accommodation - Six Senses Hideaway Hua Hin

"The resort is accessible by boat only and is a small piece of paradise located in the South of Vietnam. The villas are elegant and certainly have the wow factor and all have their own private swimming pool. Despite being away from town, there is no worry of becoming bored with the many activities on offer including the heavenly spa.

However, the main reason this is my favourite accommodation is for the privacy and tranquility the resort provides from the moment you arrive any feelings of stress simply drift away."

Most Memorable Experience

"The lesser known region of Mai Chau is approximately a 3 and a half hour drive from Hanoi in the Vietnamese countryside. When I visited I was truly impressed with the beauty of the place, green fields and mountains surrounding the lodge.

The fact that Mai Chau has very few tourists appealed to me greatly, as it meant a much more personal experience and one I knew few other people will have experienced.

There is a wide variety of activities on offer including caving, walking and cycling. It was during the cycle ride that I had my most memorable Audley travel experience, we had just cycled through some fairly dense trees and this then opened up so that we found ourselves on a dirt track in the middle of a valley. Surrounded by mountains and only my fellow cyclists as company, the rest of the world felt very far away - a very special moment."
