Reasons to Visit
Some of the world’s greatest cities lie in the USA, including the great metropolises of New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New Orleans. Each is imbued with its own character and an enormous range of sights, nightlife, shopping and entertainment.
The USA is the birthplace for many genres of the modern world’s music. Country and Western, jazz, blues, soul and rock and roll all have their roots here and there are some superb live music venues all over the country.
The USA contains some of the world’s most iconic national parks including Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon, but there are scores of other national and state parks to explore. Most offer superb scenery, excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and a wide range of outdoor activities such as scenic walking trails, white water rafting and horse riding.
Discovering the USA with a hire car gives you a wonderful sense of freedom. Most roads are well maintained and signposted, making a self-drive trip a pleasant and flexible way to explore at your own pace.
From bears in Alaska, mountain lions in Colorado and blue whales off the California coast, the USA offers wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities. Deer, elk and antelope inhabit the mountains, bison still roam the plains, and alligators bask on Southern mud banks.

New England is not just a region of pretty villages, rugged coastlines and mountain ranges, it is also a crucible of North American history, and an outdoor paradise.
Some great examples of well-preserved plantation properties can be found right across the Deep South of the USA. We glimpse into the lives of wealthy estate owners, their families and slaves during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Whether you're planning a trip to New York to see its iconic architecture, to go shopping, take in a Broadway show or visit one or more of its many museums and galleries, the five boroughs that make up the 'Big Apple' have something to offer everyone.
California's central coast stretches for 350 miles from the north of Los Angeles to just south of San Francisco, and is one of world's most beautiful shorelines.
A trip to the Rockies and Southwest region wouldn't be complete without visiting the Grand Canyon. As well as its iconic views, its size and depth mean that the canyon’s climate, flora and fauna are incredibly diverse.
There’s probably not a nation on earth where you can experience so much. Breath-taking landscapes, culture-packed cities, and amazing land and marine wildlife. Many of the places and sights will be familiar from the small or big screen but the reality is a whole lot better.
You can visit world class museums and art galleries, eat every type of national cuisine, see grizzly bears amidst mountain glaciers, sunbathe on tropical beaches, explore ancient native civilisations and drive through breathtaking national parks.
The soaring skyscrapers of the great cities provide a stark contrast to the grand architecture of South Carolina and Colonial Williamsburg, whilst the deserted lakes of Maine contrast with the sun-drenched vineyards of the Napa Valley.
The country is so vast and diverse that it cannot be fully appreciated in just one visit; rather it is very much a destination you will want to return to time and time again.
