Puri Mas

Puri Mas Beach Resort is the original Puri Mas. It was developed more than 25 years ago by the private Dutch owner Marcel De Rijk as a tribute to his grandfather and mother who were descendants of the Keraton or palace in Solo (central Java), Indonesia. It was designed to represent a typical Indonesian village with strong Balinese influences, flavours of Lombok and other islands. It encompasses all that is unique to Indonesia; pathways meander through tropical gardens, rooms display ornate carved windows and doors, traditional thatched roofs and dainty terraces decorated with antique furniture, local fabrics, arts and crafts. Guests may enjoy peace and tranquillity within each of the individually designed rooms that hide among the colourful frangipani and bougainvillea.

A stunning infinity pool looks out over the ocean and swimming under the stars is a memory to treasure. There are no rules about leaving the pool on time so guests can enjoy it all day, and all night! Spa treatments are available to all Puri Mas guests whether you are looking to enjoy a traditional massage, signature facial, try some therapeutic reflexology, or wallow in a full day of careful pampering in the tender care of the well trained therapists. The spa itself is located in the Spa Resort, hidden in the rainforest 2 km away. For dining you can enjoy the Ballroom Restaurant, so called in honour of the De Rijk family of dancers. Romantic sunset cocktails, delicious seafood specialities and enticing Indonesian cuisine are prepared for lunch and dinner.

Standard rooms are set back from the beach area. Each is different in design and size whether it is the traditional two-storey Sasak Lumbung house, or a delightful stand-alone cottage. All offer traditional beds draped with mosquito nets, typical Indonesian garden or indoor bathroom, attractive peaceful terraces furnished with antique style Indonesian furniture and garden views.

All Superior rooms have garden views. Each room offers something different in its traditional décor, size and style. All have large beds with romantic curtains, garden or indoor bathrooms, cool spacious terraces furnished with wooden carved furniture, table and chairs offering a romantic ambience among the peaceful gardens.

The Suites either have an ocean or garden view and offer large terraces some with day beds, others with comfy cushioned traditional sofas. Bedrooms offer large comfortable beds draped with mosquito nets for added romance and privacy. All Suite rooms have garden bathrooms.

Studio rooms are located to the rear of the resort, just a short walk to the hotel facilities, infinity pool, restaurant and ocean. Access is through a narrow 'jalan', the Indonesian name for street. The 'jalan' depicts the high walled features of a Keraton or palace found typically in Bali or Yogyakarta. The street is lined with comical Indonesian statues, painted bird cages and tropical plants. Studio rooms are secluded behind a high wall making sure you enjoy your privacy and a feeling of grandeur. Wooden doors open into a dainty garden and relaxing terrace. To keep you cool and refreshed, there is a garden spa tub perfect for two! The sunny garden and shaded terrace lead you to your bedroom and bathroom beyond. The spacious bedroom is furnished with a large antique style bed taking pride of place on the cool marble floor. The bed is adorned with curtains adding to the elegance and romance! Glass doors open to your indoor bathroom with a classical round bathtub and rain shower.

In addition to the Puri Mas Beach Resort there are also the Puri Mas Private Villas. Eight One Bedroom villas, a Three Bedroom villa and the Presidential villa are situated at the Beach Resort. Each villa is set behind walled gardens and each offers their own private swimming pool in some of the most exclusive accommodation to be found on Lombok.

Finally there is Puri Mas Spa Resort. Recommended by Condé Nast, Puri Mas Spa Resort offers guests a fresh, green alternative to the Beach Resort. Sitting regally behind impressive wooden gates, this private spa setting offers guests just three stand-alone Spa Suite rooms flanking a fabulous lap pool. The landscaped gardens have a vast array of tropical plants and palms that lead you to the garden spa. The Spa Resort is 2 km from the Beach Resort and transport is on standby to take you here at any time of day in a matter of just a few minutes. You may also choose to walk through the rainforest!

As all of the resort's swimming pools are over 150 cm deep and are not attended or gated the Puri Mas has adopted a no children under 12 policy for safety reasons.
