When you land on this island, punted across the water in a long canoe, you will feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere. However, waterways surrounding Philip Kutty's Farm are the main form of transport in this area and you will see many boats passing by and fishermen casting their nets.
There are just seven Keralan-style cottages which have been traditionally furnished, each with air conditioning and all facing the waterways. Set meals are taken on the outdoor terrace at a large table shared with other guests; the fruit and vegetables are produced on the family's 200,000-square-metre farm to the rear of the house. Private dining can be arranged on request.
