Kasbah Bab Ourika is perched on a hilltop at the apex of the Ourika Valley. Although it was built from scratch to resemble an authentic Moroccan kasbah, inside the style is modern and minimal.
All the rooms are spacious, with muted colours and understated furnishings to create an airy feel. There are plenty of quiet outdoor seating spaces that provide total tranquillity. The outdoor terrace restaurant is also peaceful and boasts fantastic views of the scenic valley below.

Rooms
The hotel offers several room choices, including Superior, Deluxe, Suite, Deluxe Suite, Garden Suite, Garden Pool Suite and Garden Deluxe Suite. All have fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains and the Ourika Valley. The rooms don't have air conditioning, but the hotel can provide fans when it's warm outside. A few rooms have private outdoor showers and plunge pools, while the Garden Deluxe Suite has two bedrooms to accommodate larger groups or families.
Location
Kasbah Bab Ourika is located 45 minutes from Marrakesh in the Ourika Valley. From the kasbah, there are numerous hiking trails ranging from gentle walks to rigorous climbs. The kasbah is also located close to several Amazigh villages, which can be explored on guided hikes.
Food and drink
The restaurant, in a stunning setting on an outdoor terrace overlooking the Ourika Valley, focuses on a small menu with just a few excellent quality choices. The cuisine is a blend of Amazigh, Arabic and international dishes, with ingredients picked straight from the property’s own vegetable garden. There is a beautiful indoor dining option for the colder months.
Families
Kasbah Bab Ourika is a family-friendly hotel. The large pool and sprawling gardens are great for children. The surrounding valley also offers an outdoor playground for families to explore.
Honeymooners
In addition to its romantic location, Bab Ourika offers a number of special experiences and benefits for couples on their honeymoon, including private dining on the terrace, couple massages and cooking lessons, and the chance to star gaze. The Garden Pool Suite is the best accommodation option, offering unmatched privacy and comfort as well as its own pool.

The property does not have elevators, so guests with accessibility needs should request a room on the ground floor.
Environmental and social responsibility
The kasbah operates a number of environmentally friendly projects. It was constructed principally in rammed earth, the traditional Amazigh building technique that ensures environmentally sound insulation. The hot water supply is heated by solar panels and there is a programme established to generate its own electricity. All the food is locally sourced, with some even coming from the vegetable garden onsite.
