  • Today, you have a full day with your Audley guide to explore the local area, including time at the Tha Hauk Pagoda Complex. The main reason to travel this far south of the lake is to have a comfortable off-beaten-track experience where fewer travellers explore.

  • Head back north by car directly to the airport, catching glimpses of the lake as you drive by. A short flight takes you to the former colonial capital, Yangon. In the afternoon, visit the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda at dusk, as locals come to give offerings to the spirits. You then head to 19th Street to enjoy a cold drink in this bustling thoroughfare.
