Kirsty first ventured to Africa on an overland trip from Harare to Nairobi in 1993. Following her degree at Bristol University she spent fifteen months backpacking round the globe before returning to education at the Royal Agricultural College. After four years in the world of rural consultancy her itchy feet had not been cured and the travel industry beckoned. Kirsty worked for two years in a fly-fishing travel company before joining Audley. Since working for Audley, Kirsty has visited Botswana, the Victoria Falls and the Bazaruto Archipelago of Mozambique. She has also completed a 4,500km self-drive trip around Namibia including the Caprivi Strip and explored the national parks, beaches and islands of central and northern Mozambique. Most recently has travelled through the Cape Region of South Africa and visited Victoria Falls, Hwange and Matopos in Zimbabwe. In her spare time she can often be found mountain biking round the Gloucestershire countryside and she is also a keen skier.
My Most Memorable Experience
"Following the famous Duba lions for hours as they relentlessly persued the buffalo herds across the Delta's waterways waiting for any opportunity to strike was the highlight of all my trips to Botswana."
My Favourite Destination
"Awe-inspiring deserts, open spaces, seascapes and grasslands. Namibia is an enthralling country, with something for everyone - easy to travel around and a real adventure!"
My Favourite Accommodation
"Ongava Tented Camp is a fantastic camp, built around a waterhole where the wildlife literally comes to you. Close enough to the gate of Etosha to make the park easily accessible it is situated in a private reserve where the game viewing is as good as in the park itself."
