Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Mahé Island.

  • On landing in Mahé, you will be met by an Audley representative who will welcome you to the beautiful islands and show you to the domestic terminal for your light aircraft flight to Praslin. This flight is only about 15 minutes, and you can enjoy the beautiful views over the islands as you go. You will then take a ten-minute drive to the port for the short ferry crossing to La Digue. You will be met on arrival and taken to your hotel, where you can relax after your journey.

  • Today I'd suggest walking down to the main street where you can hire a bicycle for a couple of days or for the duration of your stay. This is the best way to get around the island and gives you complete independence to go where you want, and when. They come with baskets in the front so you can pack a picnic, snorkel, masks and fins, and explore as you please.

  • Anse Source d'Argent is one of the most photographed beaches in the Seychelles and I would recommend a visit here at least once during your stay. The beach is just beautiful, with enormous granite boulders on the headlands at each side of the bay, and some superb snorkelling straight off the beach.

  • Today you have another day on La Digue to relax or enjoy exploring more of the beaches. The old colonial house at Union is well worth a visit — there are giant tortoises here and you can also watch traditional boat building and wood carving.

  • Today you will be taken back to the jetty for the ferry ride over to Praslin. Here you'll be met and driven by a private vehicle and driver to L'Archipel where you will spend the next week enjoying the activities and beaches Praslin has to offer.

  • A day to spend doing as much or as little as you wish. If you want to explore Praslin independently, you can hire a car for the day, which is a really fun way to get out and about. If you do this, I'd recommend a visit to the stunning Anse Lazio beach.

  • You will no doubt wish to just relax on some days. L'Archipel is well suited to this with an excellent beach, shady pool and very attentive staff.

  • A visit to Aride makes for a lovely day trip — the island is a breeding colony for more than a million seabirds including the lesser noddy, tropical shearwater and roseate tern and is also home to both greater and lesser frigate birds.

  • One option for seeing more of the island is to arrange a visit to the Vallée de Mai World Heritage Site — a 20-hectare palm forest which remains largely unchanged since prehistoric times. Here, a guide will show you plants which are endemic to the Seychelles, such as the Coco de Mer, and if you're lucky, you may even spot the very rare black parrot.

  • If you feel like getting out and about and doing some exercise today you could head out on the Glacis Noir walking trail. This is a clearly marked trail that leads to a fire tower built on a hilltop overlooking the east coast of Praslin, with great views of La Digue and surrounding smaller islands.

  • Today is your final full day to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Seychelles or do some more exploring.

  • You will fly back to Mahé today to meet your onward flights.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
