My passion for travel was first ignited early on in life. Living in Brunei as a boy and having a mother working in the travel industry, I grew up immersed in talk about travel. From Brunei we went all over the world and later I spent time living in Israel, Australia and New Zealand.
Of all the places I have been to, Australia has been the one to stick with me most. I decided on a whim to move there for a year and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The country has everything, from all types of climate and scenery to remarkable indigenous wildlife and a welcoming, laid-back culture. It’s a captivating place, and one which has resonated with me in many ways. Now at Audley, I’m eager to share my passion for Australia and my first-hand knowledge and experience of exploring there.
I'll never forget when…
I was snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef in an uninhabited area off Port Douglas known as the Low Isles. I began swimming back to the boat anchored offshore and was marvelling at the incredible array of marine life before me as I swam alongside sea turtles and shoals of vivid fish. Then, as I got closer to my boat, I saw it was surrounded by large blacktip reef sharks. It was a quintessential Australian experience wrapped up in the space of 15 minutes, and a moment that will stay with me for life.
